Research experience
HandEdit — egocentric human-to-robot hand image editing
Research team member · Robot assets & data engineering
- Selected robot arm and dexterous-hand combinations with attention to degrees of freedom, kinematic reachability and embodiment diversity.
- Standardized multi-configuration URDF link/joint structures, configuration files, materials and textures for batch rendering across robot embodiments.
- Built the EgoDex processing and conversion workflow connecting background inpainting with robot-hand retargeting. My pipeline contributed approximately 190M editing instances, about 95% of the project’s 200M edits, by my own count.

HandEdit: A Unified Benchmark for Egocentric Human-to-Robot Dexterous Hand Image Editing
Fifth author · Shi Che
NeurIPS 2026 · Evaluations & Datasets Track · Accepted Poster
A benchmark for transforming human hands and arms into robot embodiments in egocentric images, covering 26 robot configurations.
Engineering projects
Tennis ball-service robot — wheel-legged chassis
Overall chassis designer · Jiaolong × Lumistar
I am developing the overall wheel-legged chassis layout, working through mobility, stable stopping, payload changes and the mechanical interfaces for ball-handling modules.
深穹星核 — Novacore expressive-face platform
Core project team member · Internal assembly & mechanical design adjustments
I participate in the physical platform’s internal assembly and design iterations. The broader project explores multimodal embodied interaction, including ways to connect physical hardware such as MicroDuck with intelligent models.
SparkR — compact wheel-legged robot
Independent mechanical, electronics & control development
- Designed a compact wheel-legged mechanism with direct-drive hub motors and built a working platform approximately 20 cm tall and 2.3 kg in mass.
- Integrated STM32 embedded control, 1 kHz VMC-LQR balance control, PID loops, CAN motor communication, IMU attitude estimation and video transmission.
- Designed the power-distribution and CAN hub PCBs in EasyEDA, then handled fabrication, soldering, wiring and system tuning.
- Prototype performance: average speed 2.2 m/s, obstacle traversal of approximately 7 cm, and runtime of 35 minutes.
Aluminum electrolysis inspection robot & intelligent control system
Competition team member · 一机去铝巡
Participated in the team project 铝电解巡检机器人及智控系统 for the National 3D Digital Innovation Design Competition’s 18th-anniversary Elite League. The project received Second Prize in the Shanghai division.
Composite structure design & simulation automation
Abaqus Python workflow development
Wrote scripts to automate model creation, meshing and solving in Abaqus. Compared layup, fiber angle and thickness alternatives to study stiffness–mass tradeoffs and support composite structure selection.
RoboMaster balance-infantry leg mechanism
Leg subsystem designer · SJTU Jiaolong
- Designed a hollow carbon-fiber leg and compared composite layup and cross-section choices in SolidWorks / Simulation.
- Used a PMI foam core and vacuum-bag molding, refining assembly tolerances and interlaminar bonding through manufacturing work.
- Reduced mass by 50 g per leg. Jiaolong won the RoboMaster 2025 national championship.
Wheel-legged jumping — dynamics parameter study
Experiment design & data analysis
Designed a modular leg test bench and ran controlled-variable experiments on drivetrain ratio and nitrogen-spring preload, collecting rotational-speed and trajectory data to compare jumping behavior.
Teams & activities
SparkR competition team
Team captain for the China–US Young Maker Competition, Shanghai division.
China International College Students’ Innovation Competition
Core member of the 深穹星核 project team, participating in the university-stage competition and development of the embodied-interaction platform.
RoboMaster preparation & on-site mechanical support
Worked on bumper load-path redesign using chamfers and reinforcing ribs, mechanical retrofits, and custom CNC part designs during competition preparation and field maintenance.
